About Wilton Food Pantry

Established in October 2010, the Wilton Food Pantry emerged from a community-driven initiative to combat hunger in Wilton, New York. Before its inception, local residents relied on the efforts of Doris Wilder, who provided food assistance until her operations ceased in late 2009. Recognizing the growing need for a dedicated food pantry in the fastest-growing community in Saratoga County, a group of concerned citizens came together to fill this critical void.

With the motto "food is not an option, it’s a necessity," the founding members conducted a comprehensive Needs Assessment to understand the hunger issues facing their community. They gathered data from local food pantries, social service organizations, and schools to identify the extent of the problem. In December 2010, the Wilton Food Pantry was officially incorporated, establishing a sustainable organization dedicated to providing emergency food assistance to families in need.
