Our Story
Founded in 2004 by a group of passionate female musicians in New York City, Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls was the second rock camp for girls in the United States. Over the years, the camp has evolved from a summer program into a year-round initiative, partnering with schools and organizations across NYC. In 2020, the camp integrated STEM learning with music education, allowing students to explore the physics of sound and electronic instruments. The opening of a dedicated sound laboratory in Brooklyn in 2021 marked a significant milestone, providing access to over 30 synthesizers, computer stations, and a state-of-the-art sound system.
