Williamsburg House of Mercy
EIN: 47-5347792 · Williamsburg, VA
Our Story
The Williamsburg House of Mercy began in 1979, inspired by Sister Berenice Eltz, who dedicated her life to serving the less fortunate in Williamsburg. Known as the "Mother Teresa of Williamsburg," Sister Berenice's legacy continues through WHOM, which was officially established as a nonprofit in 2015. This organization provides essential services to the poor, homeless, and precariously housed, focusing on Housing, Outreach, Food Insecurity, and the HOPE Pregnancy Center.
Impact
WHOM has become a vital resource in the community, addressing the needs of residents living at or below the poverty line. Through radical hospitality, WHOM ensures that the most vulnerable feel welcomed and supported.
