William Averette Anderson Fund

Our Story

Founded in 2014 by Norma Doneghy Anderson, the William Averette Anderson Fund honors the legacy of Bill Averette Anderson, who dedicated his life to disaster research. This organization is committed to expanding the number of historically underrepresented professionals in hazards and disaster research and practice.

Impact

Since its inception, the Bill Anderson Fund has enrolled over 100 students across more than 20 disciplines, with alumni achieving significant roles in academia, research, policy, and practice, including positions at Howard University and the CDC.
