Our Story

Established in 1927, the Willards Volunteer Fire Company began with a small group of dedicated townsmen led by Everett (E.B.) Fuller. With the donation of a 1924 American LaFrance Chemical truck, the company was born, and a new firehouse was constructed on land generously donated by charter member Paul F. Richardson. This community-driven initiative exemplifies the spirit of local support, as noted by Mr. Richardson: "It was built by the local people to serve the local people." Over the years, the company has evolved, but its commitment to the community remains steadfast.

Impact

Since its inception, the Willards Volunteer Fire Company has tirelessly worked to maintain an operating budget through various fundraising efforts, including oyster and chicken dinners, carnivals, and bingo nights. Today, the company boasts over 20 active members and 27 life members, all dedicated to ensuring the safety of the community.
