About Willamette Resources & Educational Network

Founded in 2001, the Willamette Resources & Educational Network (WREN) is dedicated to protecting and enhancing wetland habitats in Eugene, Oregon. As part of the West Eugene Wetlands Partnership, WREN educates the community on the ecological significance of wetlands and the historical practices of the Kalapuya people. Through engaging educational programs, WREN fosters a deeper understanding of ecosystems and their interconnectedness.

Impact of WREN

WREN has successfully protected over 4,000 acres of vital wet prairie and oak upland prairie/savanna habitat, contributing to the recovery of endangered species like the Fender’s Blue butterfly. The organization’s educational initiatives have increased community awareness and appreciation for local ecosystems.
