Our Story

The Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center, Inc. was founded in 1974 by a group of ten passionate women who recognized the urgent need for support and understanding for victims of sexual assault. From its humble beginnings as the Wichita Area Rape Center, this organization has evolved into a vital resource for thousands of survivors and their families each year, employing 19 full-time and 11 part-time staff members alongside over 35 dedicated volunteers.
