Founded in 2020 by a passionate former educator, Wholly Informed Sex Ed (WISE) emerged during a pivotal moment in history, addressing the urgent need for comprehensive, anti-racist sexuality education in Dallas. In the wake of a global pandemic and heightened awareness of racial inequities, WISE is committed to providing essential, life-saving knowledge to youth who are often overlooked in traditional educational settings.

Innovative Approach to Learning

In 2021, WISE launched its first in-person workshops at the Pan-African Connection Bookstore, receiving enthusiastic feedback from participants. Since then, the organization has expanded its reach, training new facilitators and collaborating with various Dallas-area organizations and schools. By delivering inclusive, multi-session workshops, WISE has successfully engaged over 500 students, significantly enhancing their understanding of healthy relationships and personal boundaries.

At WISE, the focus extends beyond mere facts; the program emphasizes emotional resonance and the importance of individual, interpersonal, community, and societal influences. In a time marked by a crisis of connection, WISE equips students with the skills to foster healthy relationships, navigate complex societal influences, and make informed choices aligned with their values.

Commitment to Racial Equity

In 2023, WISE proudly graduated from the Dallas Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation Racial Equity Now Non-profit cohort, further solidifying its commitment to racial equity. This experience has enriched WISE's approach, ensuring that the organization operates as a racially equitable entity both internally and externally.
