About Wholistic Stress Control Institute
The Wholistic Stress Control Institute, Inc. (WSCI) is an award-winning nonprofit organization founded in 1984 by Jennie C. Trotter. Established in response to the turmoil surrounding the Atlanta Missing and Murdered Children, WSCI began its journey in Fulton County schools, developing the first prevention program, Project Stress Control. Over the past 30 years, WSCI has successfully managed over 75 projects, received more than 30 federal grants, and has been recognized with two State of Georgia Governor’s Awards.
Impact on the Community
WSCI has made a significant impact on youth and families by providing programs that address stress-related issues. Achievements include a 40% reduction in suspension rates, a 60% increase in coping skills, and a 30% increase in academic performance among students. Annually, WSCI reaches over 500 youth through its substance abuse prevention programs, resulting in a 75% increase in substance abuse awareness and an 80% increase in HIV/AIDS education.
