WHITFIELD-MANJIRO FRIENDSHIP SOCIETY INC

The organization's goal is to carry on an historical program to celebrate the initiation of US-Japanese relationships through the rescuing of a 14-year-old Japanese boy from an island in the Pacific. When he returned to the USA with the whaling captain who rescued him, he became the first Japanese person to live in the USA. The captain's home is the museum which we operate based on a sister-city relationship with the young boy's hometown in Japan.
