Founded in January 2021, the Whitehall-Coplay Hunger Initiative (WCHI) Food Pantry operates from St. John the Baptist on Ruch Street, addressing hunger in the Whitehall and Coplay areas. Since its inception in October 2015, WCHI has developed various programs, including the Snack Pack Pals and summer breakfast camps, to support food-insecure children.
WCHI has served over 1,300 guests through community meals, provided 1,610 meals during the Summer Breakfast Camp, and distributed 1,600 food packs, totaling over 26,000 food items. These efforts significantly alleviate food insecurity in the local community.
