Empowering Young Girls Through Community Support

When Girls Get Together, Inc. (WGGT) was founded in 2021 to address the unique challenges faced by middle- and high-school-aged African-American females. In response to alarming research on childhood trauma and systemic inequities, a dedicated team of educators and community leaders in Chicago’s south suburbs developed a comprehensive after-school program. This initiative includes African-American studies, financial literacy, visual and performing arts, mentoring, physical education, STEM instruction, and tutoring.

Making a Lasting Impact

WGGT empowers girls to build confidence and develop essential skills for their futures, tackling vulnerabilities and systemic obstacles head-on.
