Wheels of Happiness Foundation was founded in 2011 by Vincenzo Piscopo after a life-changing spinal cord injury. During rehabilitation, he met Father Thomas, a Ugandan priest with a similar condition, revealing the dire needs of people with disabilities in underprivileged areas. This inspired Vincenzo and his wife Gabriela to create a foundation that initially focused on sending aid to Uganda, later expanding its reach to other countries.
Since becoming a registered 501(c)(3) in 2015, Wheels of Happiness has positively impacted over 1,100 lives by providing essential mobility aids, medical supplies, and support to individuals with motor disabilities.
