The W.F. Bruen Rescue Squad, established in 1937, is the second oldest volunteer ambulance service in New York. Named after Willard F. Bruen, who generously donated an ambulance in 1939, the squad has evolved from a walk-in first aid station to a vital emergency medical service provider. Over the decades, it has expanded its services and membership to meet the growing needs of the East Greenbush community.
Since its inception, the W.F. Bruen Rescue Squad has responded to over 7,688 ambulance calls, ensuring timely emergency medical care for the community.
