The WEX Foundation was established to enhance middle and high school education in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) by integrating space exploration technology with project-based learning. Named in honor of Judge Waldo E. Ximenes, the foundation focuses on improving STEM education for traditionally under-served and under-represented students, particularly female and Hispanic students in low-income districts.
As a vital community resource, the WEX Foundation addresses local and regional needs related to SPACE STEM engagement. By sharing NASA STEM Engagement resources, the foundation prepares and inspires low-income, first-generation college students to pursue careers in human space exploration.
