Our Story

Founded in 1955 by a dedicated group of twelve individuals, the Weston Forest & Trail Association (WFTA) was established to combat suburban sprawl and protect the natural beauty of Weston. Over the years, WFTA has successfully acquired over 189 acres of land and 18 miles of trail easements, fostering a deep appreciation for conservation within the community. The legacy of leaders like Dr. William Elliston has been pivotal in raising awareness about the importance of preserving open spaces.

Our Impact

WFTA has made significant strides in land preservation, maintaining over 100 miles of trails and educating residents on conservation's value. The organization has facilitated the acquisition of conservation easements, ensuring that Weston's natural landscapes are protected for generations to come.
