Education About Heritage

Our Story

The Westminster Historical Society, established in 1974, is dedicated to preserving the rich history of Westminster, California. Located in Blakey Historical Park, which was generously donated by Leaora Blakey, the Society has made significant strides in maintaining the area's heritage. A notable achievement includes the relocation of the historic Midway City Women’s Club building to the park, which now houses the Westminster Museum. This museum features exhibits that explore the early Indian, Rancho, and Mission periods, as well as the settlement of Westminster Colony in 1870 and the city’s growth through the decades.

Impact

Each year, several hundred students visit the Museum and Park, engaging with local history through guided tours.
