Our Story

The Western Maryland Resource Conservation and Development Council (WMRC&D) was established in 1993 to serve the counties of Garrett, Allegany, Washington, Frederick, and Carroll in Maryland. Driven by local representatives, WMRC&D focuses on building sustainable resource conservation programs that foster social, economic, and environmental development.

Our Impact

WMRC&D has successfully implemented projects that improve water quality, restore habitats, and enhance local ecosystems. Notable initiatives include the Beaver Dam Creek Stream Restoration and the Western Maryland Reforestation Program.
