Our Story

The Westerly Land Trust, established in 1987 in Rhode Island, is dedicated to conserving open spaces and revitalizing culturally significant properties. With a strong foundation built by all-volunteer founding members, the organization has successfully protected over 1,700 acres of land, including the notable Avondale Farm Preserve. The Land Trust's mission has expanded to include an Urban Initiative, focusing on the redevelopment of important commercial properties in Westerly.
