About Westcott Cemetery Association
Established in the 1850s, the Westcott Cemetery has a rich history tied to the Westcott family and the surrounding community. After the death of Almira Westcott, Richard Westcott dedicated land for family burials, which later became a community cemetery in 1893. Over the years, the cemetery fell into disrepair, but a dedicated group of volunteers revived it between 2013 and 2018. In 2021, the cemetery was designated a Historic Texas Cemetery, recognizing its significance.
