Founded in 1901 by Dr. William Hazard Sherman, the Visiting Nurse Services in Westchester has a rich history of providing compassionate nursing care. Originally established to support patients discharged from St. John’s Riverside Hospital, the organization has evolved through various consolidations, culminating in its current form in 1980. Today, VNS Westchester serves over 10,000 patients across five counties, adapting to the ever-changing healthcare needs of the community.
