Our Story
Established in January 1972, the Westchester School for Special Children began as a day school program for multiply handicapped children, initiated by the Mental Retardation Institute of New York Medical College. Over the years, it has built a strong reputation for excellence in special education, becoming a vital resource for families in Westchester County and surrounding areas. In 1983, the school was officially chartered, ensuring its commitment to providing quality education and support for children with special needs.
