Westchester Food Pantry
EIN: 47-5376704 · Westchester, IL
Our Story
The Westchester Food Pantry began decades ago with the dedication of local resident Judy Saraceno Swenson. Starting from her garage, the Pantry has evolved through various locations, including the Village of Westchester Public Works’ building and the Village Hall. In 2015, Amanda Grant and a team reformed the organization into a client choice Pantry, becoming a 501c3 in 2016 and a member of the Greater Chicago Food Depository, which has significantly expanded its reach.
Impact
In the nine months ending September 30, 2024, the Pantry served 4,132 households, impacting nearly 12,300 individuals, with 40% being new clients. March 2024 marked a record month with 501 clients served.
