The West Springfield Crew program, known as Spartan Crew, began in 1987 when two passionate students introduced rowing to West Springfield High School. Over the past thirty years, this club sport has evolved into a nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching students the art of rowing while instilling values of teamwork and sportsmanship.
The Spartan Crew team offers high school students a unique opportunity to learn rowing, enhance their physical fitness, and develop essential life skills such as time management and self-discipline. This program not only prepares student-athletes for future challenges but also fosters a strong sense of community.
