Our Story

The New State Theater has a rich musical heritage in Milwaukee, originally opening in 1915 as a silent film venue. Over the decades, it transformed into a dance hall and later a rock and roll hotspot, hosting numerous bands on their way to fame. After years of neglect and a devastating fire in 2017, the Milwaukee community rallied to restore this historic landmark, paving the way for a new era of music and culture.

Impact

The New State will create opportunities for over 180 micro-businesses, including musicians and performers, while offering training and apprenticeships in live event production. This initiative aims to launch careers for Milwaukee's youth, allowing them to perform alongside seasoned artists and cultivate a new generation of talent.
