Our Story
Founded 22 years ago, West Shore AWARE emerged from a vision to give back to the community with respect, dignity, and pride. The first fundraising event in 2003 has evolved into an annual gala, celebrated every third Saturday of August. In 2023, the organization marked its 20th anniversary with a spectacular event at the Ivy House in Saugatuck. Through fundraising efforts like Drag Queen Bingo, over $90,000 was returned to the community last year alone.
Impact
Since its inception in 2002, West Shore AWARE has raised and awarded over $1,200,000 in scholarships and support for local charitable organizations. The commitment to community welfare has made a significant difference in the lives of many.
