Our Story

West Michigan Trails & Greenways is a grassroots organization dedicated to developing a non-motorized, linked-trail system that connects communities across the region. With a passionate Board of Directors, the organization focuses on promoting the best interests of the trails network, ensuring good stewardship of funds, and protecting natural habitats. The mission is to create a trail network that enhances access to parks, historic landmarks, and cultural sites throughout West Michigan.

Our Impact

In 2023, the organization reached thousands of trail enthusiasts through newsletters and social media, created a Regional Wayfinding Guide, paved the remaining miles of the White Pine Trail, and hosted two Trail Summits with over 100 municipal and trail leaders to strategize the future of trails in West Michigan.

Why Donate?

Your contributions are vital for the development and maintenance of the trail system. It costs $2,500 for unified wayfinding signage, $1,000 for regional communications support, $500 to build 4 feet of new trail, and $250 to repave 12 feet of trail. Every donation directly enhances the trail experience for the community.
