Our Story

Founded in 1994 by Omega and Brenda Wilson, the West End Revitalization Association is Alamance County’s first grassroots organization dedicated to the 'Right to Basic Amenities.' This initiative primarily serves Black communities in and around Mebane, North Carolina, addressing historical injustices related to environmental racism.

Impact

WERA has successfully installed sewer lines for over 100 homeowners and paved dirt streets, combating environmental injustices and advocating for basic amenities for low-income and minority residents in Mebane.
