Our Story
In 1979, the West End neighborhood of Roanoke faced significant challenges, including poverty, crime, and drug trading. In response to the needs of the community, West End Presbyterian Church, West End United Methodist Church, and the Mountain View Neighborhood Alliance came together to create the West End Center. This initiative aimed to provide a safe haven for children wandering the streets without supervision. Over the years, West End Center has grown tremendously, now serving approximately 150 children annually with a focus on holistic programming that nurtures their minds, bodies, and spirits.
