Our Story

Founded in 1994 as an outreach initiative of the West Angeles Church of God in Christ, West Angeles Community Development Corporation (CDC) was established to address the pressing issues of poverty and injustice in the Crenshaw District of Los Angeles. With a vision to foster community growth, Dr. Lula Ballton and Bishop Charles E. Blake, alongside the church's Trustees, recognized the urgent need for sustainable solutions to combat unemployment, inadequate housing, and educational challenges. Over the years, the CDC has evolved into a beacon of hope, uniting resources and people to create lasting change.
