Our Story
Founded in 1907 in Knoxville, Tennessee, Wesley House Community Center was established by three United Methodist Women groups to support mothers working at Brookside Mills. Recognizing the need for childcare, these women created a safe haven for children lacking supervision. Over the years, Wesley House has evolved to provide essential after-school and summer camp services for Knoxville’s most marginalized communities. In the 1950s, the organization expanded its mission to include senior citizens facing social isolation, launching the WISE program to support these vital community members.
