Wellness & Prevention Center

Our Story

The Wellness & Prevention Center was founded by a dedicated group of community members aiming to help youth lead healthier lives. What began as a school-based drop-in center has transformed into a vital organization providing mental health services in schools and the community. The center also leads a federally funded Drug Free Community Coalition, uniting various sectors to prevent youth from engaging in unhealthy activities.

Impact

Providing school-based therapeutic services, the Wellness & Prevention Center addresses the social and emotional needs of youth. A safe space is created for students to discuss stressors and conflicts while working towards positive solutions. During the COVID-19 pandemic, W&PC staff adapted by offering TeleHealth services, responding to the increased mental health burden faced by youth and families.
