In the Spring of 1979, a dedicated group of citizens recognized the urgent need for childcare services for low-income families in Murfreesboro. They approached Key Memorial United Methodist Church to utilize their fellowship hall and kitchen, leading to the establishment of Wee Care Day Care Center. As demand surged, the group collaborated with city officials to secure a building funded by a federal grant, resulting in the opening of the center at 510 South Hancock Street in 1980.
