Founded in 1935 by four visionary women, Weathervane Playhouse has been a cornerstone of quality theater in Akron. Originally starting in a carriage house, the organization has grown significantly, moving to a larger facility in 1951 and constructing a 233-seat theater in 1970. Over the years, it has produced more than 800 productions, showcasing the talent of countless volunteers and community members.
