Our Story

Founded in 2008, We The People of Detroit (WPD) emerged in response to the Emergency Management of Detroit and its public schools. This organization is dedicated to informing, educating, and empowering residents on critical issues such as civil rights, land, water, education, and the democratic process.

Impact

Since 2014, WPD has been at the forefront of addressing the water shutoff crisis in Detroit.
