Our Story

Founded by Ruth Rollins in 2017, the We Are Better Together Warren Daniel Hairston Project emerged from a profound personal tragedy. After the murder of her son, Danny Hairston, and the incarceration of her second son, Ruth recognized a critical gap in support services for mothers grieving the loss of loved ones to incarceration. This realization ignited her passion to create a safe space for healing and empowerment, honoring her son’s legacy while fostering unity among families affected by gun violence and incarceration.
