Our Story

Wayfinders on the Hudson was founded by climate activist Gwen Merkin and school counselor Leah Gozhansky, who recognized a growing disconnection among children from themselves, their families, communities, and the earth. With over 30 years of combined experience, they established Wayfinders to foster experiential nature-connection and social emotional learning, aiming to develop future sustainability leaders and bolster mental health.

Our Impact

Wayfinders creates positive impacts by increasing opportunities for diverse and underserved participants, addressing mental health challenges, and shaping future sustainability advocates through nature connection and social emotional learning programs.
