Founded in 1973 by a dedicated group of families in Fairview, Waves Inc. was established to provide essential programming and support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. At a time when institutionalization was the primary option for care, these families sought to create a better quality of life for their loved ones. Today, Waves continues to make a significant impact in the lives of individuals and families throughout Williamson County and beyond.

Comprehensive Support Services

Waves offers a wide range of services designed to empower individuals with disabilities to reach their full potential. With programs including Adult Day Services, Community Integration, Residential Services, and Employment Services, Waves supports over 1,000 people each year. Additionally, the Early Learning Program assists children with developmental delays or disabilities across more than seven counties in Middle Tennessee.

Making a Difference

Through the support of the generous Middle Tennessee community, Waves has expanded its services to meet the growing needs of the disability community. Each year, Waves assists over 700 children and adults, providing customized programming tailored to the unique goals and objectives of each individual. With services available at no cost to recipients through State waivers, Waves is committed to helping individuals live as independently as possible.
