Our Story

The Watershed Conservation Resource Center (WCRC) was founded 20 years ago by Sandi J. Formica and Mathew Van Eps, P.E. This 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization is dedicated to protecting, conserving, and restoring natural resources through a watershed approach. By emphasizing community support and strategic funding, WCRC has successfully implemented over 30 stream restoration projects, improving water quality and aquatic habitats across Arkansas.

Impact

WCRC has restored over 40,000 feet of streams, significantly reducing sediment and phosphorus loadings in the Beaver Lake and Illinois River watersheds. Their efforts have not only enhanced environmental health but also protected city parks and private properties during flooding events, showcasing their commitment to community resilience.
