Founded 33 years ago in Meridian Hill/Malcolm X Park, Washington Parks & People has transformed a crime-ridden national park into one of the safest and most vibrant spaces in the capital region. The organization leads greening initiatives across the city, focusing on land reclamation, native reforestation, watershed restoration, public health programming, urban agriculture, and green job training.
