The Washington Literacy Center (WLC) has been a beacon of hope for DC residents facing significant barriers to education since 1963. Originally an all-volunteer initiative, WLC has evolved into a dynamic nonprofit dedicated to teaching essential skills for success in the 21st century. With a mission to combat low literacy rates, WLC serves over 119,000 adults in Washington, DC, helping them overcome challenges such as dyslexia and other educational barriers.
