Our Story
On November 17, 2013, an EF4 tornado devastated Washington, Illinois, destroying over 1,100 homes. In the wake of this disaster, an incredible wave of support emerged from across the nation. Recognizing the urgent need for a structured approach to manage donations, community leaders established the Washington Tornado Relief Fund just three days later. This initiative evolved into the Washington Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charity dedicated to rebuilding lives and fostering community resilience. To date, over $1.6 million has been raised to assist residents, churches, and local governments in their recovery efforts.
