Our Story

The Wanda Alston Foundation opened its doors in 2008 as the only housing program in Washington, D.C. dedicated to providing pre-independent transitional living and support services to homeless or at-risk LGBTQ youth aged 18 to 24. This foundation is committed to ensuring that LGBTQ youth have access to essential services that enhance their quality of life, including medical and mental health care, job support, and life skills development.
