Our Story
The Wall Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1968, born from the community's recognition of the need for dedicated firefighting services. In early 1969, the department received its first fire truck, a 1969 Chevrolet 1000-gallon combination pumper/brush truck, which is still operational today. The department faced its first tragedy when volunteer firefighter Kenneth Holubec lost his life during a grass fire in July 1969. Despite this loss, the Wall VFD has remained steadfast in its commitment to serve and protect the community. Over the years, the department has expanded its fleet to include 10 fire apparatus and two fire stations, with the latest addition being a 2023 Deep South 500-gallon 4-door Fast Attack truck.
