Our Story

Founded in 2012, Wahiawā Health emerged from the vision of the late Senator Daniel Inouye, who aimed to ensure that residents of this geographically isolated area had access to comprehensive health care. Recognized as one of the six Sen. Inouye Legacy Projects, Wahiawā Health has tirelessly established itself as a vital community resource for all in need. As a Federally Qualified Health Center Look Alike (FQHC-LAL) and a 501(c)(3) nonprofit since January 2018, Wahiawā Health is dedicated to the health and wellness of the community, serving residents of Central Oʻahu, including Wahiawā, Mililani, Waialua, and Kunia.

Impact

In 2023, Wahiawā Health was recognized by the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) for significant quality improvement achievements in access, quality, and health equity. The center received the Health Disparities Reducer Award and the Access Enhancer Award for increasing patient count and improving health outcomes.
