Our Story
Voz de Niños is part of a national volunteer movement that began in 1977 when Judge David Soukup in Seattle sought to understand the lives of abused and neglected children. He enlisted community volunteers to serve as a 'voice in court' for these vulnerable children. This innovative approach led to the establishment of the Court Appointed Special Advocate® (CASA) program, which has since been replicated across the nation. In Webb County, Voz de Niños continues this vital work by training community volunteers to advocate for children in the court system, ensuring they are placed in safe, permanent homes as swiftly as possible.
