Our Story

Volunteers of America, established in 1896 by Christian social reformers Maud and Ballington Booth, is dedicated to uplifting America’s most vulnerable populations. With a strong foundation in faith-based principles, the organization has been a beacon of hope across the United States. In 1980, Volunteers of America Southeast emerged, initially operating three group homes for individuals with developmental disabilities in Mobile, Alabama. Today, VOA Southeast has expanded its reach, providing essential services throughout Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi.

Impacting Lives

Annually, VOA Southeast positively impacts the lives of over 54,000 individuals, empowering them to achieve maximum independence while ensuring their well-being and safety.
