Our Story
Founded in 1896 by Christian social reformers Maud and Ballington Booth, Volunteers of America is dedicated to uplifting America’s most vulnerable populations. With a strong faith-based foundation, Volunteers of America Southeast has been a beacon of hope since 1980, initially serving individuals with developmental disabilities in Mobile, Alabama. Over the years, the organization has expanded its reach across Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi, providing essential services to veterans, low-income seniors, children and youth, the homeless, and those battling addiction and mental illness.
