Our Story
Volunteers in Asia (VIA) began in 1963 with a summer volunteer project in Hong Kong, reshaping the lives of Stanford students and leading to the establishment of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 1966. Over the decades, VIA has expanded its reach across Asia, focusing on cross-cultural learning and community building.
Impact
VIA has empowered over 12,000 members through immersive learning experiences, fostering a global community of leaders tackling social challenges. Collaborating with over 100 local partners in more than 15 countries, VIA supports education and community development initiatives.
