Our Story

In 1999, a community-wide task force led by the Center for Community Concerns explored the need for a dedicated Volunteer Center in Racine County. After 15 months of research, the community expressed a strong desire for a stand-alone center. In September 2000, the Volunteer Center of Racine County opened its doors, with Marilynn Pelky as its first Executive Director. By June 2001, the center moved to its current location at 6216 Washington Avenue, Suite G, merging all former volunteer programs into one cohesive entity. Over the years, the VCRC has expanded its staff and programs, continually adapting to meet the needs of the community.

Our Impact

Utilizing over 500 volunteers, the Volunteer Center of Racine County serves as a vital resource hub for volunteerism, significantly improving the well-being of the community through diverse programs and services.
